That the February 14, 2012, Community Standards and Licence Appeal Committee meeting minutes be adopted.

2.

EXPLANATION OF APPEAL HEARING PROCESS

 

 

 

T. Caterina explained the appeal hearing process and asked if anyone objected to any Member of the Community Standards Licence Appeal Committee hearing the appeals. No one objected.

 

 

 

 

 

3.

COMMUNITY STANDARDS AND LICENCE APPEAL COMMITTEE MATTERS

3.1

Appeal of Order – A & P. R., Tenant/Occupant - 13017 - 127 Street NW, Order pursuant to Section 546(1)(c) of the Municipal Government Act.

 

 

 

M. M., Appellant, did not appear.

T. Courtoreille, Community Services Department, made a presentation and answered the Committee's questions.

Two sets of photographs dated January 5, 2012 and March 21, 2012, were provided to the Members of the Committee and the Office of the City Clerk.

The Committee  upholds  the order.

 

You are therefore ordered to:

 

Remove all furniture, appliances, wood, metal, pipe, carpet, tires, auto parts, wire, mattresses, cardboard, tree clippings, tarps, buckets, plastic tubs, household garbage, food garbage, general debris, damaged/dismantled/derelict motor vehicles, loose litter and debris and other assorted materials from the entire property and take any actions or remove any other items that are contributing to the unsightly condition of the property.

3.2

Appeal of Order – S.S - 5913 - 90A Avenue, NW, Order pursuant to Section 546(1)(c) of the Municipal Government Act.

 

 

 

T. Caterina questioned whether the appeal was valid as R. Schmidt, the person who filed the appeal, is not named on the order.

R. S., Appellant, answered the Committee’s questions.

T Courtoreille, Community Services Department, provided a copy of the original Order to C. Ashmore, Law Department.

C. Ashmore answered the Committee’s questions.

T. Caterina, Chair, ruled that the appeal was not valid and would be dismissed. T. Caterina requested that T. Courtoreille and C. Ashmore meet with the Appellant after the meeting and provide direction as to how to proceed. 

 

3.3

Appeal of Order - K. H. - 5905 - 90A Avenue, NW, Order pursuant to Section 546(1)(c) of the Municipal Government Act.

 

 

 

K. H., Appellant, did not appear.

T. Courtoreille, Community Services Department, made a presentation and answered the Committee's questions.

Two sets of photographs dated February 6, 2012, and March 21, 2012, were provided to the Members of the Committee and the Office of the City Clerk.

Remove all wood, metal, plastics, boards, containers, tarped items, furniture, appliances in both front and rear yard, auto parts and all loose litter and debris and other assorted materials from the entire property and take any actions or remove any other items that are contributing to the unsightly condition of the property.
