Councillor Diotte called the meeting to order at 1:08 p.m.

EXPLANATION OF APPEAL HEARING PROCESS

 

 

Councillor Diotte explained the appeal hearing process and asked if anyone objected to any Member of the Community Standards Licence Appeal Committee hearing the appeals. No one objected.

COMMUNITY STANDARDS AND LICENCE APPEAL COMMITTEE MATTERS

1241816 Alberta Inc. o/a Cromdale Liquor Store, Business Licence 59040138-001, Appeal of Decision to Impose Conditions

 

 

 

J. Pawlyk, Solicitor of the Appellant, made a presentation and answered the Committee’s questions.

Councillor Diotte asked if anyone objected to T. Nyquvest, owner, answering the Committee’s questions. No one objected.

S. Renouf, Solicitor for the Respondent, made a presentation.

A map was provided to members of the Committee, the Appellant, and the Office of the City Clerk.

Councillor Diotte asked if anyone objected to Cst. Reid Nichol answering the Committee’s questions. No one objected.

The Committee met in private at 2:22 p.m., pursuant to section 20 of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.

The Committee met in public at 2:49 p.m.

 

 

Moved K. Diotte:

 

 

 

That the decision of the Chief Licensing Officer dated March 18, 2011, be varied by:

1.      removing the condition which imposed a restriction on the hours of operation of the Cromdale Liquor Store; and

2.      imposing a condition on Business Licence 59040138-001 that a second security guard be employed and provide a presence outside the Cromdale Liquor Store between the hours of 21:00 and closing.
