That the honourary position of Historian Laureate, as outlined in the October 27, 2009 Community Services Department report 2009CSR034, be approved with the following caveats:

* The Historian Laureate will undertake specified duties as set out in the Historian Laureate Position Description (Attachment 1 of the October 27, 2009, Community Services Department report 2009CSR034).

* The Historian Laureate will work closely with the Edmonton Historical Board and Edmonton Heritage Council to promote research, writing and historical understanding of Edmonton’s rich heritage during the term of the Historian Laureate’s appointment.

* That Administration return to Community Services Committee with a report on the progress of the Historian Laureate program by the end of the first term of the first appointee.
