EXPLANATION OF APPEAL HEARING PROCESS

 

 

S. McKeen introduced the members of the Committee, explained the hearing process and asked if anyone objected to any member of the Community Standards and Licence Appeal Committee hearing the appeals. No one objected.

COMMUNITY STANDARDS AND LICENCE APPEAL COMMITTEE MATTERS

3.1

Appeal of Order - H. J., 10902 - 163 Street NW, Edmonton, Alberta, Order Pursuant to Section 545(1) of the Municipal Government Act

 

 

 

The Appellant was accompanied by her son, B. J.

J. Lallemand and R. Pleckaitis, Citizen Services Department, made a presentation and answered the Committee's questions.

Two sets of photographs taken on July 27, 2016, and on October 26, 2016, were provided to the Appellant, members of the Committee and the Office of the City Clerk.

C. Ashmore, Law Branch, answered the Committee's questions regarding disclosure of a Complainant's name. He explained that the City does not have the authority to release names due to the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.

The Committee met in private at 10:25 a.m., pursuant to Section 20 of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.

The Committee met in public at 10:31 a.m.

Remove all derelict vehicles, old lumber, tree clippings, cardboard, plastic bags, tarped items, pallets, crates of glass, loose litter and debris and other assorted materials from the entire property and take any actions or remove any other items that are contributing to the unsightly condition of the property.

Remove all furniture, appliances, wood, lumber, metal, auto parts, glass, shopping carts, screens, windows, plastic, bags, tarps, pallets, tires, fabric, towels, blankets, clothing, luggage, cardboard, wire, shelving, boxes, totes, jugs, baskets, containers, pails, cans, buckets, broken items, indoor items, excessive tools and equipment, damaged/dismantled/derelict motor vehicles, loose litter and debris and other assorted materials from the entire property and take any actions or remove any other items that are contributing to the unsightly condition of the property.

And thereafter maintain the property to prevent the reoccurrence of any unsightly condition detrimental to the surrounding area.

Remove all empty bottles and cans, unused bicycles, bicycle tires and frames, auto tires, auto parts including vehicle frames and transmissions, chain link fencing, tree clippings, metal, computer parts, hubcaps, damaged / derelict / dismantled motor vehicles, whether registered or not, and all loose litter and debris and other assorted materials from the entire property and take any actions or remove any other items that are contributing to the unsightly condition of the property.
